The Michigan Innovations in Care Coordination (MICC) Project aims to improve workforce capacity and access to coordinated and integrated care for children at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorder/Developmental Delay (ASD/DD). Using innovative technology solutions co-developed by clinicians, service providers, payers, parents, and other stakeholders, the MICC project has created a highly automated workflow that supports timely identification, intervention and coordination of services.  This system automates the connections between multiple types of providers and takes the burden of care coordination off the family without adding burden to an already overburdened workforce.  Because of the diverse group of stakeholders supported as equal partners in establishing this collaborative system of care, it is being readily adopted by MICC’s partners.  The team hopes to make this system available more broadly across the state in the near future.

This video provides a brief overview of steps parents can take to get their child evaluated for ASD. The presentation introduces the MCHAT screener tool, details the benefits of an autism evaluation, and provides next steps if a child receives a positive diagnosis.
